Society to hold ‘Friends of the Poor’ walk

WARREN — Trumbull County St. Vincent de Paul Society will host its first Friends of the Poor Walk starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at Perkins Park in Warren.

A $15 registration fee for the event will include a T-shirt, a “swag bag” filled with coupons and gifts from local businesses, lunch and participation in the one-mile walk.

The Friends of the Poor walk is a national event to raise awareness about rapidly rising food and income insecurity.

Participants can register at the start of the event Saturday. Registration for students is $10.

St. Vincent de Paul Society is an association of Catholic lay women and women volunteers devoted to serving the underprivileged in the community.
