St. Vincent de Paul Trumbull County Ohio

Need to Volunteer or Intern Only Part-Time?

Perhaps volunteering as a Vincentian member is more than you can commit to at this time, but you still wish to volunteer or intern with the Society. From delivering meals and food boxes to the poor, picking up donated food items from area vendors, preparing a meal in the local SVdP Dining Hall or helping sort donated items in the Thrift Store Donation Center– St. Vincent de Paul Society has a place for everyone.

Although our volunteers come from all walks of life, they have one thing in common: the desire to improve the lives of others.

Volunteers may serve individually or they can organize a club, a group of friends or coworkers. Opportunities include a one-time volunteer visit, a service project, a drive to collect needed items, or a regularly scheduled volunteer assignment.

How our Volunteers Make a Difference

STUDENT INTERNS

Volunteers from local colleges receive professional career experience and college credit related to their major. We are always looking for talented, eager young adults to assist with all aspects of public relations including social media, communications, website design as well as fundraising activities and events.

THRIFT STORE TEAM

Volunteers stock and organize merchandise and assist customers at our area SVdP Thrift Store. Duties include hanging clothes, arranging merchandise such as books, videos, records, waiting on customers and helping sort/prep merchandise that comes into the Donation Center.

DAILY FOOD PICK-UP

A few hours, even one day a week, can make a tremendous impact on so many lives. By picking up donated food items from area stores and vendors that work closely with SVdP, you will help to feed nearly 400 people daily and provide food boxes for dozens of elderly, veterans and families facing situational poverty.

DONOR OUTREACH/DEVELOPMENT

Donor Outreach volunteers assist in making calls to thank donors and ensure that our donor database includes their most current information. By supporting these types of clerical fundraising efforts, volunteers keep our doors open, families fed and meals provided.

FUNDRAISING & EVENT COORDINATION

Fundraising events provide our staff the ability to keep our operations running smoothly and allow us to set long-term goals for growth to serve a wider group of community members. While these events take a village to develop, plan and execute, they are engaging, fun and creative ways for our staff to raise money to reach more people! Do you have great ideas that would support these efforts? Whether you can commit to a few hours for a few small activities or if you have the skillset to launch a new event, SVdP is the perfect place to showcase your talents while creating meaningful change for those around you!

PROGRAM LIASON & SOCIAL SERVICE ADVOCATE

For some people, working 1:1 with struggling families and individuals is the most rewarding part of a day. We need warm, compassionate adults that can help neighbors in need navigate through their situational poverty so that SVdP can assist them in the best way possible.

WHAT SPECIAL SKILLS DO YOU HAVE?

Let us know how you can help others: store merchandising, conducting a food drive, sales experience, social work, etc. At SVdP, we want each volunteer to bring their own personality and skills to the team we have assembled to serve those most in need in our community!

Call today to and become one of our “Neighbors Helping Neighbors!
